The so sweet
and so cold
peaches
you love
were stolen
out of the fridge
early this morning
and I ate them all.
But I’m in too much of a hurry—
to ask for forgiveness.
Besides,
you’re busy
crafting emails
to so-and-so
from so-and-so
anyway.
Plus they were lousy.
Like all the fruit
this time of year.
It isn’t delicious.
